All About: Mo LevoneThis is a featured page

Mo Levone has bass in his blood. He began playing at the age of 12 when he discovered a 1968 Fender Precision bass in a closet at his father’s home. His father, a professional bassist currently residing in New York City, showed him a couple of licks and Mo was off to the basses.

A California native, Mo got his first pro gig while in college in Philadelphia. In 1999, after several attempts to have a "legitimate" career in Biotechnology and later in Computers, Mo abandoned all hope of climbing the corporate ladder and enrolled in the Master’s of Music program at USC. Upon graduation, Mo was offered and accepted a position teaching bass at USC. However, when the Drew Davis Band needed a new bassist, Mo abandoned yet another stable career opportunity for a life on the road to country music stardom!

Before he joined the Drew Davis Band, Mo was thumping his upright bass alongside Loren Ellis in the ground-breaking bluegrass band "Honeywagon". Mo's playing can also be heard on the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet's 2005 Grammy winning album "Guitar Heroes."

Mo currently plays Greg Bennet and Lakland basses which are amplified on stage by an incredible Aguilar bass amp. One listen to the Drew Davis Band and you'll know that the driving bass lines can only be coming from one man: Mo Levone!

Mo plays the bass guitar in the band and is also back up vocals. He is a cool guy. He is also really tall.

His e-mail is mo@drewdavisband.com.
